Climate

Cyprus has a typically Mediterranean climate with long dry summers and winters that are short and rainy. January is the coldest month with a temperature rarely falling beneath 15°C, the hottest month, August, reaching as high as 45°C.
The Tróödos Mountains separate the east from the west of the island, the east of the island boasts the driest and hottest climate all year round being shielded by the Tróödos Mountains against the cold northerly winds.
Average annual rainfall is mainly falling between December and March.
