Introduction
Having become a member of the European Union on the 1st
May 2004, Cyprus has a lot to offer both the holidaymaker
and the foreign resident. Cyprus is the third largest island
in the Mediterranean, and boasts beautiful landscapes of citrus
and olive groves, pine and cedar covered mountains and beautiful
sandy beaches. Unspoilt villages set amidst the scenic beauty
and modern thriving towns attract many visitors to the island
accommodating every taste and budget. There are valuable Historical
and Archaeologically sites only a few kilometers away from
modern cities. The islands population is approximately 780,000
with an area of 9.251 sq km.
